Death
John F. Twisleton Crampton
Death of John Crampton, Esq.
We have heard with sincere regret of the death of this most amiable gentleman. He was well known in the town of Cheltenham and wherever known, was beloved and respected. There was a period in the annals of Irish Society, when dramatic representations were the favourite amusement of many, who held the highest places in it - among those Mr Crampton was distinguished above all others, by talents not often found without the circle of the profession; but when the love of these light pleasures passed away, his maturer years developed the nobler, and better qualities of his nature. - He had a fondness for every member of his family, that extended to their remotest connections; a sweetness of temper that no difference in opinion from him could disturb; a sense of humour that no temptations could corrupt; and a readiness to obey the calls of friendships, whether for his council, his industry, or his purse, that no inopportunity could weary. - There never beat within the breast of man a more guileless, or a warmer heart than his; but all the moral excellencies of his domestic life, derived additional value from the religious character of his later years. - From religion he drew the divine inspirations of Faith and Hope; and through the pious lessons that it taught him, became the better able to endure with a serene, and humble resignation, the painful and protracted sufferings, under which he ultimately sunk!
May the 4th 1834!

John married Louisa Fyers, daughter of Lieutenant General William Fyers R.E. and Anne Wanton, on 6 Nov 1812 in Dublin, Leinster, Ireland.3 (Louisa Fyers was born about 1795 in Gibraltar.)
