• Education, 5 Nov 1821, Trinity College, Dublin. 3 John Crampton, who paid double fees and enjoyed several privileges as a Fellow Commoner or Socii Comitates, entered Trinity College on November 5, 1821, aged 16. His Schoolmaster was Dr. Keate of Eton College. John Crampton was born in Dublin and was the son of Philip Crampton, a Surgeon. He inherited the title of Baronet (2nd) from his father (1st), and attained the honour of Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath. He was the British Ambassador in Madrid.
