Both the bride and bridegroom are very well known in Kimberley. The Very Rev. T. C. Robson, Dean of Kimberley, officiated, and Mr. Wyllie Turnbull played the organ. The bride was given away by her father; and her sisters, the Misses Stephane and Audrey Crampton, were the bridesmaids. Messrs. George Bartlett and George Engelsman (brother of the bridegroom) carried out the duties of best man and groomsman. After the ceremony about 250 guests gathered at the Dean's Hall for the reception, at which the usual toasts were proposed by the Dean, Mr. Stephen Alexander and Mr. H. Solomon. Relations present included Mr. and Mrs. Wigginton (uncle and aunt of the bridegroom), Mr. Fred Robb, Mr. and Mrs. And Miss T. Norval, Mr. and Mrs. and the Misses Dugmore and Mrs. Wepener. A very large number of handsome and useful presents were received. THE DRESSES The bride looked charming in an old-fashioned chantilla (sic) lace frock, reaching to her ankles with small frills, and with cape effect sleeves. She wore a handsome silk net veil with lace to match the dress, and carried a bouquet of St. Joseph lilies and carnations. Very pretty were the bridesmaids' ankle-length dresses of Wedgwood blue georgette, with long capes and full skirts. They wore blue shoes to tone and lace beige picture hats trimmed with blue. Their bouquets were of pink carnations and forget-me-nots. Mrs. Crampton, mother of the bride, was dressed in navy blue silk morocain with trimmings of navy blue lace and a hat to tone. She carried pink carnations. Mrs. Wigginton, the aunt of the bridegroom, was gowned in a brown crepe-de-chine frock and brown coatee trimmed with fur and a hat to tone. She also carried pink carnations. The bride's going-away dress was of black satin beaute trimmed with blue. A hat to match and a beautiful silk handbag completed the ensemble. Mr. and Mrs. Engelsman are spending their honeymoon in Durban and Capetown. Stephen married Isabel Fryer.
