King Edward VIII Windsor of England ¹

   Another name for Edward was Duke Edward Windsor of Windsor.

  General Notes:

Edward VIII, was only King of England for 326 days when he created a royal
scandal, abdicating the throne to his brother, in order to marry the twice
divorced Wallis Warfield Simpson. He was then created the Duke of Windsor
and he resided in France with his wife. They had no children. He served
Britain in WWII, was governor of the Bahamas, and wrote his memoirs which
became films.

• Residence: Great Britain, 1894.

• Ruled: King of England, 1936. Abdicated 1936.

• Residence: France, 1972.

Edward married Wallis Warfield Simpson, daughter of Teakle Wallis Warfield Simpson and Unknown, on 3 Jun 1937. (Wallis Warfield Simpson was born in 1896 and died in 1986.)
